Now that
McCain has come out against the
Swift Boat Vets for Truth ad, you can bet that it will get some media attention. Now, the media has a hook for the story: dirty GOP tricks and McCain criticism of the Bush campaign. That is news. Criticism of Kerry by those who served with him is not news.
Drudge has more excerpted information from the book.

McCain's criticism might actually lead people to reexamine Kerry's status as a 'War-hero." Without the McCain intervention, the MSM would've ignored this story. Now more people will look at the ad and check out what the Swifties say.
That said, I think its a losing proposition to focus on what JF'in Kerry did in Vietnam. Hero or not, what he did on his return was disgraceful, in particular his testimony to Congress, and that is what the Swifties ought to focus on.
The focus on what he did during his 4 months in country too easily becomes a "he said, he said" argument that the anti-Kerry folks can't win.
On the other hand, anyone can look at his testimony to Congress, the repetition of the lies of the Winter Soldier propagandists, his meetings with N.Viets in Paris, etc and draw their own conclusions . . . damning ones.
My first thought upon learning of McCain's remarks was 'why is it that Moveon.Org gets a pass?'; McCain talks out of both sides of his mouth.
